I’ve always been interested in technology and media, which is why I’ve spent so much of my life working in television and online.

Prior to the COVID pandemic I’d been exploring the world of “slow” travel, mostly within the Spanish-speaking world and attempting to learn that beautiful language.

Everywhere I’ve travelled I’ve been amazed at how quickly the digital revolution has permeated the globe. There’s no corner of the world where the way people live and communicate and move hasn’t been profoundly changed and/or challenged by it.

And of course this revolution is far from over…

Wikipedia suggests that the Industrial Revolution  took maybe 80 years. That definitely changed the world,  but it was only about extending our ability to make and/or move things. The digital revolution is about extending our ability to imagine and think ideas. It’s actually about extending the power of our brains…

And, given the challenges our species is facing in order to solve the problem of global heating, we will need to apply every single tool we have.

I remember being astounded by the Apollo 8 “Earth Rise” photo – which brought home the reality that all of humanity exists on a beautiful but very small dot – totally surrounded by a void.

I hope you enjoy some of the videos and observations I’ve documented here…
